Asmus Trautsch, geboren in Kiel, studierte Komposition/Musiktheorie bei Walter Zimmermann, Gösta Neuwirth und Hartmut Fladt an der Universität der Künste Berlin sowie Philosophie, ältere und neuere deutsche Literatur an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und am University College London. 2003 gründete er mit Bettina Hartz den LUNARDI Verlag Berlin. Er ist Vorsitzender des Berliner Komponistennetzwerks Klangnetz, das seit 2003 internationale und intermediale Projekte im Bereich der Neuen Musik organisiert.
Asmus Trautsch erhielt zahlreiche Stipendien, u.a. der Akademie Schloss Solitude, des Künstlerhauses Schloss Wiepersdorf, der Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes und des Berliner Senats. Er publiziert Lyrik, Essays und philosophische Arbeiten sowie Texte zur Musik, dirigiert Ensembles und gibt Kompositions-Workshops. Seine Werke waren u. a. auf Festivals wie Crossing Borders, Nordischer Klang, Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, frum-, Wien Modern oder Israel Festival zu hören, sie wurden mehrfach vom Rundfunk aufgezeichnet und sind auf zwei CDs erschienen.
Asmus Trautsch was born in Kiel and studied Composition/Music Theory with Walter Zimmermann, Gösta Neuwirth and Hartmut Fladt at the University of the Arts, Berlin. In addition, he studied philosophy, as well as medieval and modern German literature, at the Humboldt-University Berlin, followed by a PhD in philosophy until 2014. In 2003, he founded LUNARDI, a publishing house for contemporary literature, together with Bettina Hartz. While he was chairman of Klangnetz, a Berlin based network of composers and related artists, from 2003 to 2014, he organised several international and intermedial music projects and concert trips to Europe and Asia. He has continued to work as an organiser and dramaturg of musical projects ever since.
Asmus Trautsch was rewarded with several stipends, including: a fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude and at Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf, and stipends by the German Academic Foundation, the FAZIT Foundation, and the Berlin Senate. Besides composing and performing as a conductor, he writes poetry as well as philosophical papers and books, teaches at music colleges and universities and gives lectures at international conferences. His musical works have been performed by numerous artists and at Festivals such as Crossing Borders, Nordischer Klang, Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, frum-, Wien Modern or Israel Festival. These were broadcast in several countries and appeared on two CDs.
